About Valerie Pek, Principal

Nearing two decades of experience on behalf of brands, properties and agencies - Valerie brings a unique understanding of the brand journey from all perspectives and the impact on key stakeholders. Her career began in media with Corus Entertainment and Global Television and then shifted to pro sport where she led the corporate partnerships for the Calgary Stampeders for eight successful seasons, adding an impressive roster of new corporate partners and longterm programs. During her time in the CFL, she also went on to lead the marketing department - rebranding the team and creating known campaigns such as “Game Face” and the now CFL wide “PinkPower” program, raising awareness and funds for women’s cancers. She went on to lead strategic partnerships for AppColony, an innovative mobile digital agency with offices in Calgary, Toronto and Victoria. Having created numerous impactful national marketing strategies and brand activations in sport, tech, entertainment, lifestyle and retail - her expertise in marketing, sponsorship activations, branding, business development, corporate partnerships, digital and live event management has led to working with an extensive list of companies including Nissan Canada, Scotiabank, Shaw Communications, The Co-operators Group, PepsiCo, Tim Hortons, Molson Coors Canada and Rogers Communications.

Baldwin + Brant symbolizes the journey from Valerie’s early days in the prairies to life today based in Downtown Toronto. Growing up on Baldwin in Saskatoon is where she developed a passion for entrepreneurship and learned the true value of hard work. Her journey continued with stops in Calgary, Alberta, Los Angeles, California and throughout Mexico. The experiences, people and teams she was part of played an integral role in the values and philosophies she holds close to her heart today.
